Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is apparently the famed director’s attempt to further shake up the horror genre in a very big way for the streaming platform. The series is not only aiming to shake up horror in general but it’s also going to be presented in a unique way on Netflix. The series is going to be part of a Netflix & Chills Halloween event where the first two episodes will launch on October 25, and then another two will launch every day until October 28 when the entire run will be on the streaming platform.

On Monday, the people behind Guillermo del Toro’s latest project gave a look at just what people can expect once the calendar reaches spooky season. In addition to a brand-new trailer where the director himself explains the aim of Cabinet of Curiosities, there’s also a bunch of new photos that show off some of the stars of the show as well as the monsters they’ll be running from.
Speaking about the show, del Toro said that the aim of this anthology is to show off the “anomalies and curiosities” that exist outside of peoples’ normal world. We hand-picked and curated a group of stories and storytellers to deliver these tales, whether they come from outer space, supernatural lore, or simply within our minds,” the famed director pointed out. “Just in time for Halloween, each of these eight tales is a fantastical peek inside the cabinet of delights existing underneath the reality we live in.”
del Toro also revealed the titles of each of the eight episodes when just a few were known before. “Dreams in the Witch House,” “Graveyard Rats,” “Lot 36,” “Pickman’s Model,” “The Autopsy,” “The Murmuring,” “The Outside,” and “The Viewing” is the total list of episodes featuring the directors special brand of monsters, though which order they’ll be debuting isn’t known just yet.
Each one of those episodes are going to be jam-packed with stars that will help making the horrors really hit home. Actors such as Harry Potter franchise star Rupert Grint as well as F. Murray Abraham, Crispin Glover, David Hewlett, Nia Vardalos and many others are set to appear in one installment or another.
