For the uninitiated, most radio stations play a mixture of licensed music, DJ chat, and spoof advertising. This heavy and diverse focus on music makes exploring the sandy beaches and new upper-class residents such a pleasure, as each station reflects a style of music intended to evoke the atmosphere of GTA: Vice City’s colorful 1980s setting.

What Type of Songs are in GTA: Vice City Definitive Edition’s Soundtrack

The soundtracks to Grand Theft Auto are a highlight, and Vice City is no exception with its satirical world-building Miami aesthetic. With that being the case, the bulk of GTA: Vice City’s soundtrack is made of contemporary 1980s music; however, the tracklist does also feature a few songs from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. These tunes are accessible via any vehicle’s radio set beside the emergency automobiles.

What Songs are Missing in the GTA: Vice City Definitive Edition

Having said that, the GTA: The Trilogy’s Vice City is missing songs. Here’s a list of songs that are now not available on GTA Vice City’s radio stations:

Looking for the Perfect Beat – Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force Rockit – Herbie Hancock Añunga Ñunga – Irakere Wow – Kate Bush Billie Jean – Michael Jackson Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ – Michael Jackson Bark at the Moon – Ozzy Osbourne The Smurf – Tyrone Brunson

This is not the first time Rockstar Games has removed popular songs from GTA, as Grand Theft Auto 4 infamously excluded over 15 tracks in a later re-release. The exclusion of these records in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is most likely because of the music copyright expiring, and Rockstar no longer desires to pay for the music license.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
